Freight payment FAQs

Full capture pays the freight charge immediately when the shipper authorises it ideal for established lane partnerships and standard FTL/LTL shipments.

Authorise & capture holds the freight funds for up to 7 days and lets you capture them after proof of delivery, which suits new lane relationships or any shipment where you want the money committed before dispatch.

Deposit & Balance splits your freight charge into two payments:

Mobilisation deposit: A percentage you choose (e.g., 30-50%) is captured upfront before dispatch covering fuel advance and driver mobilisation costs.

Freight balance: The remaining amount is captured after delivery confirmation, without requiring the shipper to be present (off-session capture).

This method is ideal for high-value shipments, cross-border lanes, and provides working capital for transport operations.

Authorisations are valid for 7 days. Within this period, you can capture the full freight charge or a partial amount. After 7 days, the authorisation expires and funds are released back to the shipper.

CargoPay provides comprehensive freight payment tracking:

  • Failed payments are tracked with detailed error codes and decline reasons
